Top 20 Hen Party Activity Ideas in the UK and Europe.

Planning the Perfect Hen Weekend Starts Here

You’ve been asked to be Maid of Honour and now comes the big job: organising the hen do.

You need to choose where to go, work out the budget, bring together a group of people with different interests and find hen party activities everyone will enjoy. It can feel like a huge task, especially if you have never organised a group weekend before.

Don’t panic. We know it’s overwhelming; we have loads of great ideas and we are here to help. Infinity Weekends has been organising hen dos for over 20 years, and we know which activities get everyone involved, help break the ice and give the group plenty to talk about afterwards.

Take a look through our top 20 hen party activity ideas for inspiration, including daytime activities, nights out, relaxing experiences and a few cheekier options.

Things to Consider Before Planning Your Hen Weekend

Before choosing a destination or filling the weekend with activities, speak to the bride and get a better idea of the type of hen do she wants.

A little planning at the start can save a lot of stress later.

1. Talk to the Bride-to-Be

Ask the bride if she has a destination in mind and what type of hen weekend she would enjoy.

Does she want sunshine and boat parties, a UK city break, a weekend of big nights out or something more relaxed?

It is also worth asking if there is anything she definitely does not want. A surprise is only fun when it is the right kind of surprise.

You may also want to check who she would like to invite — and if there is anyone she would prefer not to include!

2. Agree on a Realistic Budget

Set a maximum budget before making any bookings and speak to the bride about what feels reasonable for the group.

Remember to include:

✓ Accommodation
✓ Travel or flights
✓ Hen party activities
✓ Food and drinks
✓ Transfers
✓ Spending money

Not everyone will have the same amount available, so agreeing on a realistic budget early can help avoid excluding anyone or creating awkward conversations later.

3. Check Everyone Can Travel

If you are considering a hen weekend in Europe, check that everyone has a valid passport and can travel on the proposed dates.

This is also a good time to ask about dietary requirements, pregnancy, health considerations or mobility needs that could affect the choice of destination or activities.

Think about the ages and interests within the group too. If you have a mixture of friends, family members and different age groups, choose hen do activities that give everyone a chance to join in.

4. Ask Infinity Weekends for Help

Organising a hen weekend does not mean you have to arrange everything yourself.

Infinity Weekends has been planning group trips for over 20 years. We know the destinations, activities and accommodation options and can help you build a weekend that suits the bride, the group and your budget.

Call our freephone number during office hours, send us an email or complete our Quick Quote form. Tell us your preferred destination, dates and estimated group size, and our team will help with the rest.

Infinity Weekends’ Top 20 Hen Party Activity Ideas

1. Cocktail Making Class

Cocktail making is one of the most popular hen party ideas and a great choice when some members of the group have not met before.

Led by a friendly, experienced mixologist, you’ll learn how to make a selection of cocktails while picking up useful tips and tricks along the way.

The ingredients and cocktail-making equipment are provided, so all you need to do is turn up, get behind the bar and have a go.

Cocktail making usually works well in the late afternoon or early evening. It gets everyone talking and laughing before heading out for the night.

When I tried it, I may have let myself go a little and cannot remember much about the end of the class. My advice is to pace yourself.

2. Hen Party Boat

A hen party boat is a brilliant way to combine sunshine, music, drinks and time together on the water.

Depending on the destination, your trip could be a coastal party cruise or a boat ride along a city river. Many party boats include a DJ, music, drinks, food and games to get everyone involved.

Sea-based boat parties may also include a swim stop, giving you time to cool off before climbing back onboard and carrying on with the party.

My favourite part was the limbo competition. I am surprisingly flexible after a couple of drinks.

3. Male Strip Show

A male strip show is a classic hen night activity for a reason. It is cheeky, light-hearted and usually gets the whole group laughing.

Depending on the show, you may see choreographed dance routines, themed performances and plenty of audience participation.

It is a good idea to check that everyone in the group is comfortable with the activity before booking. All guests will also need to meet the venue’s minimum age requirements.

After I tried this activity, I made my boyfriend go to the gym every day for months. Sadly, it did not make a jot of difference to his physique. I suspect he went to the pub instead.

4. Prosecco or Beer Bike

Pedal through the city, listen to music and share a few drinks with the group on a prosecco or beer bike.

A sober driver takes care of the steering, leaving your group free to pedal, chat, sing and take in the sights.

The number of passengers varies by destination, but some bikes can carry groups of up to 14 people.

I tried this activity in Amsterdam and may have overdone it. I only know I completed the tour because there are photos.

5. Male Nude Life Drawing

A male nude life drawing class combines creativity with loads of cheeky hen party humour.

Your group will sketch a professional male model during a private session, with drawing materials usually included.

No artistic experience is needed. The aim is to relax, have a laugh and see who creates a masterpiece — and whose drawing should never leave the room.

Sessions generally last around an hour and are suitable for mixed abilities.

6. Bottomless Brunch

Bottomless brunch combines food, drinks and plenty of time to catch up before the rest of the day begins.

Most experiences include reserved seating, a choice of dishes or sharing platters and a set period of unlimited drinks. Depending on the venue, drinks may include cava, beer, wine or cocktails.

With the food, drinks and table arranged in advance, your group can turn up, sit down and get the day started without worrying about finding somewhere that can accommodate everyone.

7. Hen Party Dance Class

A themed dance class gets the whole group moving, laughing and learning a routine together.

A professional instructor will guide you through the steps, usually beginning with a warm-up before teaching the routine in manageable sections.

Many sessions finish with a complete group performance, giving you the chance to show off everything you have learnt — or laugh at the people who have spent the whole class facing the wrong way.

Dance themes vary by destination and may include pop stars, films, musicals and different styles of dance.

This activity is easier to remember than some of the others because the refreshments are usually non-alcoholic.

8. Afternoon Tea

Afternoon tea is a relaxed hen party activity with plenty of time for the group to chat over sandwiches, cakes, scones and tea.

Many venues include a glass of bubbly or offer the option to upgrade, making the occasion feel a little more celebratory.

It is a good choice for mixed-age groups and can work well as a break between busier activities.

The best part for me was the scones and clotted cream. And the bubbly.

9. Guided Bar Crawl

A guided bar crawl takes the stress out of planning a big night in an unfamiliar city.

Your group will visit a selection of bars with a local guide who knows where to go and how to keep the night moving.

Depending on the destination, your bar crawl may include welcome shots, party games, challenges and nightclub entry.

It is also a good way to meet other groups and experience several venues without spending half the night deciding where to go next.

10. Spa Day

A spa day gives everyone time to relax, recharge and recover during a busy hen weekend.

Facilities vary by venue but may include swimming pools, Jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms and relaxation areas.

Some spa packages also offer optional beauty or massage treatments.

A spa morning can be particularly welcome after a late night. It gives the group time to catch up, recover and prepare for the next round of activities.

11. Old School Sports Day

Go back to your school days with classic races, team games and silly challenges.

Old school sports days are designed to get everyone involved, regardless of age or fitness level.

Expect plenty of friendly competition as the group splits into teams and takes on a selection of familiar games.

You may remember the activities from school, but they become much funnier when everyone is older and considerably less athletic.

12. Go Karting

Go karting adds speed, competition and plenty of bragging rights to your hen weekend.

The experience normally begins with a safety briefing, followed by practice laps, timed sessions and a final race.

The exact format varies between tracks, but everyone gets the chance to compete for a place on the podium.

It is a great choice for groups who want an active hen do idea that does not revolve around drinking.

13. Dildo Workshop

A dildo workshop is a cheeky, creative activity where everyone gets involved in making a personalised souvenir.

An instructor guides the group through the process step by step, with the materials and equipment provided.

No previous experience is needed, and the relaxed setting gives everyone plenty of time to chat, laugh and compare their creations.

You will also have something very unusual to take home at the end.

14. Dwarf Handcuff Prank

Add a surprise to the hen weekend by arranging for a comedy performer to handcuff themselves to a chosen member of the group.

Expect jokes, mischief, photos and plenty of attention as the performer joins your group for the experience.

This activity works particularly well as a surprise for the bride or another unsuspecting member of the hen party.

Just make sure the person chosen can take a joke before making the booking.

15. Comedy Striptease Show

A comedy striptease performance adds a cheeky and unexpected twist to the celebrations.

Often booked alongside a handcuff prank, the performer puts on a humorous themed routine designed to get the group laughing.

It is less about taking the performance seriously and more about giving the bride and the rest of the hens a story they will still be talking about long after the weekend.

16. Lip Sync Battle

Take to the stage and battle it out to become the group’s Lip Sync Champion.

Your group will usually have around 90 minutes in a private space with a professional instructor helping you prepare your performances.

Choose your favourite songs, work on your stage moves and give the performance everything you have.

Singing ability is not required because nobody needs to hear you. Confidence, dramatic dance moves and pretending you are headlining a stadium tour are far more important.

17. Pole Dancing Class

A pole dancing class is a fun and active way to try something different with the group.

Led by a professional instructor, the session is designed for different fitness levels and usually lasts around 90 minutes.

You will learn a selection of moves and techniques in a supportive group setting, with plenty of time to practise.

Many classes include a certificate at the end so everyone has a reminder of the experience — along with several muscles they did not know they had.

18. Escape Room

An escape room challenges your group to solve clues, complete puzzles and work together before the time runs out.

You will be placed inside a themed room and given a series of challenges that lead you towards the final solution and your escape.

Most experiences last around an hour. The room is monitored throughout, so the operator can provide clues if the group gets stuck.

And don’t worry — if you fail to solve the final puzzle, they will still let you out.

19. Party Bingo

Forget everything you know about traditional bingo. Party bingo combines familiar bingo games with music, dancing, challenges, unusual prizes and plenty of audience participation.

The atmosphere is more party night than bingo hall, with everyone encouraged to join in as the entertainment builds. Depending on your destination, you could book experiences such as Bingo Lingo in Liverpool or Gringo’s Bingo in Magaluf.

It is a great hen night idea for groups who want music, drinks and plenty of laughs without spending the whole evening moving between different bars.

You may arrive determined to win. After a few drinks, you will probably be more interested in dancing than checking your bingo card.

20. Cheeky Butler

A cheeky butler can add some fun to drinks at your accommodation, a private meal, a villa party or another hen activity.

Your butler will help serve drinks, pose for photos and keep the group entertained with games and light-hearted banter.

It is an easy activity to include alongside other hen weekend plans because it comes to your group rather than taking up a large part of the day.

Expect lots of laughing, a few distracting outfits and someone suddenly needing their drink topped up far more often than usual.
